Lesson Terms & Policies

Please read carefully before submitting the form.

Required Equipment:

  • A tuned piano or fully functioning electric keyboard.

  • At least one video device (iPad, laptop, or large tablet) for Zoom lessons. This device should be large enough for students to view lesson materials clearly.

  • A second video device is strongly recommended (but not mandatory) to view the student's posture and piano keys, ideally set up on a tripod.

Lesson Setup:

  • Lessons are scheduled weekly at a mutually agreed-upon time. If you need to reschedule, simply contact Miss K directly.

  • Join the Zoom meeting 5-10 minutes early to prepare and address any technical issues.

  • End the Zoom meeting promptly to allow the next student to start on time.

Attendance & Missed Lessons:

  • Provide at least 24 hours' notice to reschedule a lesson. Without proper notice, the lesson will be forfeited.

  • If the student is late, the teacher will not extend the lesson time. Consistently missed lessons without proper notice will not have makeup sessions.

Canceling or Pausing Lessons:

  • Two weeks' notice is required to cancel or pause lessons.

  • Lessons paused for over four weeks may require re-enrollment and approval.

Technical Support:

  • Contact Miss K directly for Zoom issues. Ensure you input the correct Meeting ID, a stable Wi-Fi connection, and that Zoom is up to date on your device.

Student Etiquette:

  • Students are expected to be engaged, ask questions if needed, and come prepared with all required materials (songs, exercises, worksheets, etc).

  • Younger students or those with disabilities may need a parent or older family member's assistance during lessons.

  • Regular practice is crucial. Parents/Guardians can help by scheduling practice time and ensuring their child can practice consistently.

Parent/Guardian Involvement:

  • Success in lessons relies on a collaborative effort. Parents/guardians are essential in supporting their student’s progress. While direct involvement in practice may not always be feasible, it is important to ensure that students have the necessary materials, time for practice, and a conducive environment for learning.

  • Encourage and motivate your student to practice regularly, while respecting their pace and interest. Provide a positive and supportive environment for their musical development.

  • Communicate with Miss K regarding any concerns or adjustments needed to support your student’s success.

Payment Information:

  • Payments are due at the beginning of each month.

  • Accepted payment method: Automated payments by Credit Card, Debit Visa, or E-transfer (Only available for Canadians).
